Our Mission
Chrystal Shadburn established Shadburn Bookkeeping, LLC in 2021* to remove the pain of bookkeeping so attorneys can get back to practicing law. Shadburn has her education in accounting and has a decade of experience working with the law firm industry.
Our mission is to provide law firms with accurate financial records in a timely manner, upholding the highest standards of ethics and confidentiality. We aim to transform financial data into valuable insights, reduce the need for collection efforts through efficient invoicing, and enhance cash flow and profitability by collaborating with your CPA on budgeting.

About Chrystal Shadburn
Chrystal Shadburn was born and raised in Macon, GA. She comes from a long line of motivated entrepreneurs with a high level of ethics and hard work.
Her grandpa, Art Shadburn, was highly influential in her life’s choices. He taught her to never stop learning, and to never settle for anything less than ethics and accuracy. He taught her that mistakes are not failures, only an opportunity to learn and try again.
Shadburn began working for her grandpa in his upholstery shop at the age of nine. Upholstery has been her family’s trade since 1919 (http://shadburnuph.com/our-history). While she originally had plans to follow in her family’s footsteps, she was in an accident at fifteen years old that left her disabled and unable to practice upholstery. Upon her mother’s recommendation, she entered the accounting field, which she found to be her true passion.
Shadburn graduated from Middle Georgia Technical College in 2010 and has worked in the field of accounting ever since. She has been working with law firms since 2013, and has been a legal bookkeeper since 2016.
Influenced by her family history, she decided to start her own business, which eventually became a reality in 2018 with the start of Shadburn Bookkeeping.

Toni Cook - Office Manager
Bio
Toni Cook joined Shadburn Bookkeeping in February 2024 as a Personal Assistant. She thrives in her role, appreciating the flexible schedule and the opportunity to bring order to the various tasks that need to be accomplished. Toni finds great satisfaction in helping maintain organization and efficiency within the firm. Outside of work, she enjoys playing Magic: The Gathering and exploring astronomy. Her dedication to structure and her passion for the legal bookkeeping industry make her an invaluable asset to our team.
Riley Johnson - Bookkeeping Clerk
Bio
Riley Johnson, originally from Blue Ridge, Georgia, moved to Abilene in late 2022 with her husband as he pursued his military career. Inspired by her time working with her father, Riley began studying accounting and bookkeeping online. In mid-2024, she joined the Shadburn team, connecting through mutual friends and quickly becoming an enthusiastic member.
Though new to the field, Riley is passionate about her work and the growth of the company. She loves organizing information and values the flexibility her role offers, allowing her to adapt to military life. In her free time, Riley enjoys spending time with her husband, friends, and family, sharing in their favorite activities and games.
